“To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” (2 Corinthians 5:19 KJV)

God was in Christ reconciling all men to himself and has committed to us the ministry of reconciliation. The message we are mandated to preach to people is that God is no longer mad at them. That is the good news. When a drunkard or a drug addict or a prostitute gets to know that God is not mad at them they will run to God. When you go all around town on a Sunday, you will see multitudes of people. Some are going to the beach, some are relaxing, some are playing football and some are drinking and smoking. When you see such people, in your hearts you say things like don’t worry God will reach out to you. But God has handed the ministry of reconciliation to you. And the way to reconcile them back to God is not to say to them this thing you are doing will send you to hell; rather, tell them, brother, I was once like you, come the way you are and the Lord will save you. I was worse than you and if he could save me, he will save you.

That is the good news. Don’t look arrogant, you were bad and you know it. I often say that church folks tend to be the most hypocritical folks in the world. When we come on Sunday we are all saints but we forget where we are coming from. It was grace that reached out to us. Why don’t you extend the same grace to other people? If as believers we all carry out our assignments, there will be no space left in the church buildings because the world is waiting for those who will tell them God loves them, no matter what.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (Romans 3:23 KJV). And the wages of sin is death. But there is good news. In Christ sin is not imputed because of the great exchange on the cross. This is the message!
